Lighthouse Beginnings: Lighting The Way To A Brighter Future.

In 2018, Scott and Dawn Adkisson envisioned a nonprofit dedicated to closing the gaps within the Recovery Community.

Their dream began to take shape through countless conversations—meetings, listening sessions, and community dinners—where voices and ideas came together. By 2020, that vision became reality when Lighthouse Beginnings (LHB) officially became a 501(c)(3) organization.

From the start, LHB was built on a foundation of lived experience. Our board of directors is composed of individuals in recovery, ensuring that every decision reflects real-world understanding and empathy. LHB exists to assist and empower people on their recovery journey, helping them overcome the roadblocks that often stand in the way of lasting change.

Today, LHB continues to thrive under the leadership of those who know recovery firsthand—people with diverse backgrounds, education, and unique pathways. This blend of experience and perspective drives our mission forward: to create a community where recovery is supported, celebrated, and sustained.
